A young man’s vision:
Since I was a little boy I’ve been working beside my dad with my siblings in the shop to build quality products.

From a young age I have dreamed big. I have watched my family go from food stamps and poverty, to what would be considered by most, a very privileged lifestyle. My dad and mom have always been great examples of strength, character, and love, for me and my siblings. They have always taught us to work hard at what we do, and to not give up.
For years I have watched my dad build multiple businesses, many of which failed, but after a little humbling, and a lot of learning, my dad was able to build two successful businesses, one was an Etsy business, and the other a lumber yard. The Etsy business was later handed over to a former employee of ours, this shop is now called thesandygap on Etsy, and the lumber business became my dad's main focus in terms of work.
In 2019, at 12 years old, I had been bugging my dad, who owned a lumber yard, about wanting to start a business, but I didn’t really have any idea as to what that business would be. I had dabbled in mowing and a few other investments, but they never really lasted. Then one day my dad took me into the shop and together we built my first product, a birdhouse, out of some scrap lumber we had. It was a huge step that launched me onto an incredible journey with my business “From the Scraps”.
Over the years I have developed a dream of owning a farm and From the Scraps is my way of realizing that dream.

My first big project! I built this 6’ x 6’ hunting cabin completely on my own at 14 years old, and we put it on our family’s farm
